I haven’t done a Cherry Blossom design in ages, it was one of the first designs that I learned to do when I first started getting into nail art. I recently purchased 2 OPI Polishes from the Nikki Minaj collection, FLY and Pink Friday as well as a stunning nude that I have been lemming after for a while, Samoan Sands. I decided to try them out all together on this Cherry Blossom design. I’m really loving the way this looks over the nude base. And Samoan Sands is stunning on its own.
And the extreme close up…
Feeling like I’d completely lost the knack and the skills I gave it a rest for a while. A week or so later I decided to get back on the horse and start off with something I was confident with, and oldie that is hard to stuff up. I love this look and I always love anything with a bit of Orly Luxe (the gold). The base colours are China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise and Sinful Colors Dream On.
Second attempt at something should’ve been easy enough, I wanted to do a cute red strawberry pattern over a pretty pink background. The yellow seeds from the strawberries ended up running into the colour when I put the topcoat on and the strawberries, well as you can see they weren’t my best work!! It was a cute idea, I’ll give it another go when my hand starts getting steady again….
So this was my very first attempt at something, I thought dots would be easy to start with but I actually struggled to use the dotting tool and it came out quite messy, but I did really like the colour combo, had a bit of a pop art feel to it. The drips were a lot more purple in real life. As you can see, my cuticles are disgraceful, another thing I wasn’t looking after very well!! The Yellow B/G is actually the Sally Hansen Nail Effects Nail Polish strips, they were extremely fluorescent in real life.
So it seems I’ve been MIA for a couple of months now… Went through a pretty rough patch and in the process completely lost my creative flow and had zero inspiration and motivation to keep adorning my digits. I was at least painting my nails, but leaving the same colour on for over a week (GASP!!) So I started off by lurking around on here for the last few weeks, started seeing so much inspiring work that I feel ready to get back on the horse painted nails and all!! My first attempts have been pretty mediocre, will still be posting them, but I am finally starting to “feel” it again and will hopefully be back to my old form soon enough so I can start posting some work that I feel proud of!!

Oh my gosh, I cannot describe to you guys how much I absolutely love these! They remind me of a 80s or 90s pattern. My sister said they remind her of the show Saved by the Bell. I think it looks like there is a fiesta on my fingers!!
